Celebrating International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

We work with two amazing women that hold the fort for our business. They are strong, tenacious, determined and dedicated.

We are proud and lucky to have them as part of Landscapers By Nature team!

Thank you Cally Arsenault and Michelle Ennis for being who you are.

Cally: I started working in the landscaping industry at the age of 17. It was definitely apparent stepping into the industry that it was very much male dominant and it would take some hard work to stand on my own and make a mark. After 7 summers of working with The City of Calgary Parks division I worked up from a crew member to a crew leader, and eventually an inspector. I took all the knowledge I gathered and branched out into new companies, one of them being Landscapers by Nature! Working at the top of your game in any industry should be admired, doing the same in an industry dominated by the opposite sex makes me feel accomplished and even more proud to be a woman! Happy international women’s day to all the girl friends, sisters, mothers, grandmothers out there. The world wouldn’t go around without you!

Michelle: During my career as a Chartered Accountant working in public practice, I was very fortunate to have strong female mentors to look up to and collaborate with. These individuals helped me build the confidence I needed to be a successful professional accountant, and ultimately transition into my current position as CFO of Landscapers By Nature. The landscaping industry is definitely a male-dominated trade, and it excites me that I am able to help build and grow this company alongside my two very talented female co-workers – Cally and Caroline! I enjoy being an integral part of the business strategy and love to see the results of our hard work and planning in action. I believe International Women’s Day is a great opportunity to highlight the benefits from achieving gender equality and empowering women all over the world. I am extremely grateful for the ladies I have worked with thus far!
